Game Jam

This game was created during the Grazminster Game Jam, where I collaborated with students from my university and TU Graz in Austria. The theme was “When the Lights Go Out,” which encouraged us to explore darkness and how it could affect the player in a 3D first-person world.

After Hours follows a child who has been left inside a toy store by his parents, with the main goal of exploring the store and turning on all the lights to complete the game. I used images of real toy stores as inspiration to achieve a realistic look while adding areas such as the playhouse, where the player starts, and the ball pit to give the level more depth. To create the final level design, I first made a blockout using ProBuilder, adding the walls, floor, ceiling, shelves, ball pit, lighting system and payment desk with basic shapes. After I was happy with the size of each room and corridor, I added the final assets and adjusted the environment lighting to achieve a dark and eerie atmosphere.
